ERICA FOX It was always a given that one day Erica Fox would shine. A bona fide star in her own right, this R&B beauty is an explosion of talent. Steeped in an already extensive career in show business, she is poised to bring a fresh, new flavor. Her debut album promises to be a celebration of her musical influences, as rich and diverse as the culture of her Louisiana hometown. "My music is versatile and characteristic of the down-home lifestyle I was nurtured in," says Erica Fox. "It's an introspective look at life as told by an urban poet”--poetic, spiritual, deep. This talented singer-songwriter-producer creates songs that are soulful, flavored with Southern blues and urban rhythms. I stay true to life experiences. I share my own hurdles I’ve had to conquer and tell stories that we’ve all been through." A native of Lafayette, LA, this accomplished songwriter and performer has worked with the likes of Toni Braxton, Shai, Jon B. and Tank. Her vocal stylings have been showcased on such projects as Master P’s “504 Boys” and “Ghetto Postage”, C-Murder’s “Trapped in Crime” album and Xbox’s Project Gotham Racing video game. She is the featured voice on several Mattel Barbie commercials and her song “Throw Ya Hands Up” with hit producer ‘XL’ was featured in the Sony Motion Picture “You Got Served”. On the theatrical stage, Erica appeared as Charlaine in Ain’t Misbehavin’, Coco Hernandez in Fame and as the incomparable Dorothy Dandridge in Mickey Stevenson and Smokey Robinson’s hit play, “Sang Sista Sang.” She recently performed at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame paying homage to Motown’s legendary Funk Brothers. An activist for Aids Awareness and Prevention, her charity music project, “Start the Conversation” was featured at World Aids Day in Toronto. Erica feels “it is a privilege and honor to help others through music and the arts”. She starred in the Broadway Show, The Buddy Holly Story at the Lawrence Welk Theater in San Diego, CA. Erica’s “teaser” remix “Callin’ for Ya” is a playful answer to “Candyman” by Chris Ardoin, a local Zydeco artist. She can be seen this fall in the thriller film, "Judgement Day" playing the mayor's advisor. She is also featured in Sci-Fi channel's movie, Wolvesbayne. She recently portrayed the singer, Sonny in the "Greasy Spoon" by Austin Sonnier. Currently recording her album “Long Road Home”, Erica pays tribute to the sounds and culture of her beloved hometown and pays homage to the place that nurtured her love for music.
